Dr. Vini Mehta is a Dental Public Health Specialist,
Research Consultant, and Preventive Dentist. She has completed her
post-graduation in 2018 and has been mentoring academicians and clinicians from
various healthcare fields – regarding the various arms of research, medical
writing, and publications. She has worked as a Senior Research Fellow with the
Indian Institute of Public Health, Gandhinagar. Her interest
in Public Health arose out of an insatiable appetite for doing good for
millions of people. She is currently working as an Associate Professor in the
Dept. of Public Health Dentistry, Dr. D.Y. Patil Dental College and Hospital, Pune. She works as a Public Health Expert in a research foundation called
ASAR (Association for Socially Applicable Research). She is a Research
Consultant and a trustee member for SAMVAD…Beautiful Conversation, a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization
committed to improving mental health across the globe by empowering existing
resources to provide psychological support. She coordinates and leads short-term training in Systematic Reviews and
Meta-Analysis, critical evaluation of a scientific paper, and statistical
analysis.
Founder
of one of the fastest-growing consultation company named STAT SENSE. She has a
robust quantitative science background. She is a member of Institutional Ethics Committee
(IEC) at Nair Hospital Dental College, Mumbai and peer reviewer for 3
international journals.
She has won Young Researcher Award for her
outstanding work.
Her area of interest is Epidemiology, Data
science, Health systems research, Tobacco, and Non-communicable diseases
epidemiology. Her skills include data
management, designing epidemiological studies, data analysis, clinical skills,
public relations, and research. Her ambition is to contribute to the global public health
revolution by generating high-quality evidence for effective interventions to
major health challenges of the 21st century. In doing so, she dreams of a world
where access to quality and timely health care may no longer be a privilege of
the few but an equitable basic human right for all.
She has more than 40 research publications to her
credit in peer-reviewed journals.
She has won and presented several papers
nationally and internationally. She has also participated and been awarded in
various extracurricular activities pertaining to tobacco and oral health. She is skilled in Healthcare
Consulting and Tobacco Cessation.
